The NHL season is over, and many of the names bandied about as trade candidates are either soon-to-be free agents or young prospects. That’s not the case with Jordan Kyrou of the St. Louis Blues.
Kyrou, 27, is a seven-year veteran and one of the top goal scorers likely to be available, having scored 36 goals this past season. What makes Kyrou different is that he’s entering the third year of an eight-year contract with an average annual value of $8.1 million.
Typically, a player like that isn’t considered a trade candidate. However, reports are circulating out of St. Louis that the team’s front office wants to make some changes to the roster.
Kyrou’s contract also no longer includes a no-trade clause, meaning, the Blues wouldn’t need his approval to move him.
With all that in mind, BetMissouri.com used its Missouri sports betting mindset and developed the following odds on where Kyrou will be playing next season.

Staying Home?
If Kyrou moves, it won’t surprise us if he goes to the Buffalo Sabres or the New York Islanders. Both were among the bottom-dwellers in the Eastern Conference last season, and could make a move to add more firepower in the offseason.
Why would the Sabres be buyers? The Sabres missed the playoffs by just seven points in 2023-24 and by a mere point in 2022-23. The team’s front office and fans went into this season with optimism before a major skid meant three years in a row with no playoff hockey in Buffalo.
