Kansas City is the last unbeaten team in the AFC, with Patrick Mahomes in the MVP and Comeback Player of the Year races and Kenneth Walker III leading the Offensive Player of the Year market. For anyone following Missouri sports betting, the two teammates offer different award storylines as the Chiefs continue their 5-0 start.

How the Odds Have Moved

Before the season, DraftKings had Mahomes at +1000 for MVP and +185 for Comeback Player of the Year. Walker was at +3500 for Offensive Player of the Year. After the Week 1 win over Denver, Walker had moved to +1100 for Offensive Player of the Year and Mahomes to -110 for Comeback Player of the Year, as we covered in our early look at Chiefs award candidates.

Now, Mahomes is +850 for MVP, with the third-shortest odds behind favorite Josh Allen and Brock Purdy, and -250 for Comeback Player of the Year. Walker has moved from +3500 to +200 for Offensive Player of the Year and is listed at +5000 for MVP. Prices can differ across MO betting apps, so it is worth comparing lines before placing a wager.

The Case for Both for MVP

Mahomes' case starts with Kansas City's undefeated record and his return from last season's knee injury. He threw for 382 yards against Indianapolis in Week 2 and 272 in Sunday's 22-6 win over the Chargers. That game also marked his 100th regular-season win in his 131st start. Allen and Purdy remain ahead of him in the odds.

Walker has made his case with consistent production. He leads the NFL with 665 rushing yards, has topped 100 yards in four of five games and averages 6.3 yards per carry. Against Los Angeles, he rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns. That output helps explain why he is priced more favorably for Offensive Player of the Year than for MVP.

Super Bowl Hopes in Kansas City

The Chiefs opened the season at +1600 to win the Super Bowl and are now +750 at DraftKings. Those Chiefs Super Bowl odds have shortened substantially during their undefeated, with Kansas City set to visit Walker's former team, Seattle, on Oct. 25.

If Kansas City reaches the Super Bowl, Mahomes and Walker would have different paths to the game's MVP award. DraftKings lists Mahomes at +3000 and Walker at +30000. Mahomes has won the honor three times, while Walker earned it with Seattle last season.
